Material Sales

Material Sales are available by application from the LMD.


Applicants are advised to consult with the Resource Management Specialist, and obtain a copy of the LMD procedures for material sales. prior to submitting an application.


The application process will take longer than 60 days to complete due to public notice and board review requirements. The LMD will work to negotiate a contract for the applicant in the least amount of time.


Upon contract agreement, the contractor will be required to provide:

  • proof of insurance ($300,000 minimum)
  • a performance bond
  • a reclamation bond
  • a minimum royalty pre-payment
  • Assembly approval is required for contracts greater then $25,000

Timber Sales

The Borough is currently NOT SELLING TIMBER from its land due to a moratorium issued by the Assembly in 2005. The terms of the moratorium were that it would be lifted upon completion of a timber inventory and a forest management plan.

The Land & Resources Management Division (LMD) is working to achieve those requirements. The timber inventory and appraisal was completed in 2007. The timber inventory, operational analysis and appraisal results can be viewed below.

Phase one of the forest management plan was completed in March 2008. Phase two began in December 2008 and is expected to take 13 to 18 months to complete. Information regarding completed or ongoing phases can be seen by clicking on the Proposed Forest Management Plan tab to the left.
