Rescue

Central Mat-Su Rescue responds to over 350 calls each year. This includes primarily motor vehicle accidents / crashes with a variety of other technical and off-road rescue incidents. This represents over ½ of the entire rescue call in the Mat-Su Borough.

Central Rescue consists of the following units:

  • Rescue 61 Heavy Rescue (also serves as the Borough-wide Haz-Mat response vehicle)
  • Rescue 65
  • Squad 51 (Service company and backup rescue unit)
  • Two Yamaha 660 4-Wheelers with trailers

AC Greene oversees the vehicle rescue and extrication programs BC Gibbs oversees the technical rescue programs consisting of rope, off-road and confined space.
