This is the fiscal year 2013 approved annual budget for the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. The approved budget seeks to address the needs of borough residents in a cost effective and efficient manner. It provides funding for general government operations, solid waste, libraries, animal control, fire and ambulance services, road maintenance, education operations and debt service, Enhanced 911 and other special services, such as flood control and sewer and water operations.

 

The fiscal policies adopted in prior years in regards to maintaining sufficient fund balances have been adhered to in the preparation of this budget. This policy will continue to preserve the strong financial condition of the borough. Additionally, reserves have been funded for emergency response, future capital and equipment needs and major repair and renovation.
