The northern latitude of Alaska do not generate hurricanes. However, Alaska does experience very strong winds, up to hurricane force One or Two. These winds are still extremely dangerous and warrant your full attention.

• Expect the power to go out. See Power Outage.
• Make sure you back-up heat plan is in place with enough fuel for at least a week.
• Make sure your loose items are stored properly: put it away, tie it down, weigh it down, or expect the wind blow it away.
