The Purchasing Division is responsible for acquiring supplies, services, and construction in support of Borough operations. Purchasing is the only entity within the Borough authorized to issue formal Invitations to Bid and Request for Proposals. Purchasing also issues purchase orders, develops term contracts, conducts Land, Tax Foreclosure, and competitive land sales, and disposes of surplus property and equipment.

Purchasing employees are very conscious of their responsibility and accountability in spending public funds. We are committed to supporting delivery of services to the public by providing Borough Divisions and Departments with quality supplies and services in a cost effective and timely manner. We maintain a competitive bidding process in accordance with Federal, State, and Borough laws, regulations, ordinances, internal policies, and professional purchasing principles.

Borough requirements vary widely through the full range of commodities and services offered or sold. As a result, the Borough relies heavily upon the business community to meet its needs. We encourage the participation of qualified vendors in the bidding process, emphasizing opportunities for all businesses. Preference may be given to local bidders when not prohibited by the funding source.
