This electronic data was created or compiled by the Matanuska-Susitna Borough ("Borough") with the intent of using the data for local government related activities, and not necessarily with the intent of use of the data recipient ("Recipient") in mind. Although the Borough strives to maintain an accurate and precise inventory of spatial and attribute data in order to perform government-related tasks, this data may contain errors, may not be current, and may omit important information. This data is solely a representation of real-world conditions and is made available to the Recipient for informational purposes only. If the Recipient wishes to acquire precise legal documentation or verify information found on this website, please contact the appropriate agency or department. Contact information can be found elsewhere on the Borough website. If the Recipient wishes to locate parcel corners and property lines, please employ the services of a Registered Land Surveyor.

The Borough reserves the right to discontinue maintenance of this website and data or to modify the format or structure of the website and data at any time. Although the Borough attempts to provide data in formats that are compatible with industry standards, the Borough is not responsible for the reformatting or converting of data from the original published format that the Borough has made available to those requested by the Recipient.

Distribution/Redistribution Policy

The Borough makes published geographic electronic data available to the Recipient as a public service. To protect the Borough and the population the Borough serves, the data provided to the Recipient is designated as copyrighted material. The Borough grants the Recipient the right to duplicate the electronic data for their personal or business' internal use and to use this digital data as a source for which to create other electronic data, electronic maps, or paper maps. Any transfer, sale, lease, or transmittal of the original data to any third party without value added or without the written authorization of the Borough Office of Information Technology may be considered a violation of this copyright and subject the Recipient to civil liability. Any hardcopy maps or published datasets utilizing electronic data downloaded from the Borough GIS website shall clearly indicate their source with the following citation:

"________ (title of dataset), current as of _______ (published currency date), was originally obtained from the Matanuska-Susitna Borough Office of Information Technology, and was used to create this product. The Matanuska-Susitna Borough assumes no responsibility for the completeness or accuracy of the data contained within."
If the Recipient has modified the data in any way, the Recipient is obligated to note the types of modifications that have been performed. The Recipient specifically agrees not to misrepresent the data, nor to imply that the Borough has approved any changes made by the Recipient.
