The Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Sportsmen’s Committee was formed in February 2007 for the purpose of representing the interests of the Borough in the preservation and allocation of available fish, game, and habitat for sportsmen’s purposes.
The Sportsmen’s Committee advises the MSB Assembly and the State of Alaska Boards of Fish and Game regarding fish and game practices and policies that affect the Matanuska – Susitna Borough.

Mayor's Blue Ribbon TaskForce On Forming a Health and Social Service Board |

The Borough's Primary Health Care Plan was completed in 2004. One of the recommendations of this plan was to form a health and social services board. To explore this idea, the assembly created the Mayor's Blue Ribbon Task Force on Forming a Health and Social Services Board.
The task forcehas been charged with the following duties:
Study and make findings and recommendations to the assembly on the need for a borough health and social services commission or board.
The potential role of the board with regard to MSB 1.10.250.
The general composition or representation of any resulting commission or board.
Review the fiscal impacts of adopting health powers.

Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Task Force on Police Powers |
|
The Matanuska-Susitna (Mat-Su) Borough may exercise police protection, with all of its incidental powers, only with approval by the voters. Due to increasing concern expressed by Borough residents regarding crime, vandalism, and criminal mischief, the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Task Force on Police Powers was established by Assembly resolution in August, 2003.
