New Requirements for Gravel Extraction |
Gravel Extraction (Interim Materials Districts)
Effective December 20, 2011 Materials Extraction is allowed below or within four verticle feet of the seasonal high water table under certain conditions in a permitted interim mining district. Other requirements include:
Provisions for undisturbed buffer of 100 linear feet between any extraction activity and waterbodies or wetlands.
A reclamation plan showing restoration and revegetation plans with timelines & financial assurance.
Plans for mitigation of soil erosion and slope stabilization.
Removal of junk vehicle, parts and other trash from the site.
