The Point MacKenzie Correctional Center will be approximately 450,000 SF.  The medium security correctional center will have1,536 beds for male prisoners.  The site is about 330 acres with 150 acres to be cleared. The new facility will be designed and constructed as a prison for long-term sentenced prisoners. In the near term, it will also provide overflow capacity for un-sentenced prisoners from local pre-trial facilities until additional jail beds have been constructed
