The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB), Land and Resource Management Division, has received an application from Colaska, Inc., to purchase the development rights on an Ag classified property they purchased in 2010.  The property was originally classified and appraised for an industrial sale and made available for lease purchase in Land Auction Number 12, in 1984.  Subsequently, Class II and III soils identified on the property were reclassified from industrial to agricultural and that portion of the property was sold as Ag Rights only with a required farm development plan.

The Borough currently owns those development rights.  Colaska, Inc. is further developing the industrially zoned property and obtained an interim materials district classification for gravel extraction in 2012.  Colaska has applied to purchase the development rights, with the parcel then being reclassified from agricultural to industrial.
