By 3:30 pm Friday, the Canvass Board had finished checking the eligibility of voter names on absentee ballots that start with a G. The group of five election officials will ultimately canvass through more than 2,000 ballots to see which ones are eligible
Mayor Larry DeVilbiss and Assembly Member Vern Halter are shoulder to shoulder in a race for Matanuska-Susitna Borough Mayor. With all the precincts in at 11:20 pm, Halter had 4,269 votes, and DeVilbiss 4,090 votes in unofficial results.
