Public Affairs Department Press Releases General News Posting visible address critical
Posting visible address critical
Tuesday, 26 January 2010 10:14

All too frequently emergency responders lose precious seconds to locating a physical address because it is not posted on the home, or not posted visibly. Borough code requires the address to be posted no farther than 50 feet from a road.

This week a commercial airs on KMBQ radio, reminding property owners of the importance of proper addressing.
Matanuska-Susitna Borough Assemblymember Mark Ewing is passionate about the subject. Ewing also is a member of the Local Emergency Planning Committee.

ambulancebackIn order to produce the commercial, busy people, such as dispatcher Alaina Anderson and a Palmer Police officer, gave us their time. Thank you.

Borough code also requires that street address numbers contrast with the background and shall not be less than four inches in height.
