The Matanuska-Susitna Borough also has an area for construction and demolition materials at Central Landfill.  This consists of materials such as wood, sheetrock, glass, tires, concrete, and other inert materials of this nature. These items may be disposed of at a reduced per ton rate.

Residents may also wish to come into the construction/demolition area to salvage useful materials. A waiver must be signed prior to salvaging in this area. More information is available about salvaging at the Central Landfill Scale House.
