The Matanuska-Susitna Borough holds an impressive concentration of quality waters and diversity of species. There are over 80 lakes, stocked and wild, all within an hours drive, and less than an hour from Anchorage. Within six minutes you can hop to new lakes and fly fish a different experience: semi-remote lakes, hike-in lakes, drive-to lakes. Rainbow trout, Arctic char and grayling, Dolly Varden, landlocked salmon, and pike are swimming around, getting as big as the lakes will allow.
