Meet Assembly Member Matthew Beck
Matthew and Teresa Beck moved to Alaska in 1996 and lived in Anchorage for nine years. In 2005, they moved to Palmer, where Teresa had graduated from high school several years earlier. Today, they have 3 daughters that attend public schools in the Mat-Su. Matthew works at St. Michael Catholic Parish as the Parish Life Director and has a background in high school education, youth ministry, faith formation, and pastoral leadership.
Teresa is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and is living out her childhood dream of returning to Palmer to work as a co-owner of North Star Animal Hospital in Downtown Palmer. They believe the Mat-Su remains the best place in Alaska to work, to play, and to live. As a member of the Assembly, Matthew hopes to listen to his fellow residents in District 2 and represent their needs and interests to the best of his ability.
