Borough Budgets and CAFRs

Budgets and CAFR's are the main finacial documents for the Borough.

Prepared yearly, and approved by the assembly, the budget includes the Borough's annual spending plan. It is prepared in the begining of the year and is usually brought to the Assembly around April. The budget goes into effect at the begining of the Borough's Financial year, on July 1.

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is the companion to the budget. It details actual expenditures and is released about six months after the end of the fiscal year on June 30.

Comprehensive Annual Financial Report

A Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is a set of financial statements comprising the financial report of a state, municipal or other governmental entity and is mandated by state and federal statute. It is compiled by accounting staff and audited by an external certified accounting firm.

The Borough's CAFR is made available in January for the preceding fiscal year that ends on June 30. We provide CAFRs back to FY 2009, when we first started publishing them to the web.
