The Purchasing Division is responsible for the centralized procurement of supplies, services, construction, professional services and surplus for the Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB). The mission of the Purchasing Division is to ensure that each Borough agency is supplied with the training, consulting, goods, construction, and services it needs quickly, efficiently, and economically. We cannot do this without the active participation and cooperation of the business community. We recognize that neither of us can be successful without the other. To advance the process to procure disaster relief funding, the Mat-Su Borough (MSB) is seeking qualified firms to review the Federal Emergency Management’s (FEMA) and MSB’s information to produce an engineer’s estimate to repair the two bridges. The engineer’s estimate shall consider all phases of project development including inspection, design, permitting, and construction to produce a comprehensive estimate for both sites.     The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB) is soliciting comprehensive proposals for development of a Waste Management Project.

    The MSB anticipates that the scope of services to be provided for the Project by the contractor (the “Company”) will include responsibility for designing, permitting, financing, constructing, commissioning, acceptance testing, operating and maintaining the Facility(ies) and required support facilities for an initial Term. Following the initial Term, this agreement shall remain in effect with up to two 5-year extensions unless terminated by the MSB with a one hundred eighty (180) day written notice.

    The MSB desires to provide facilities for the proper management of septage and septage residuals (not currently managed by the MSB) generated within the Borough and/or the Company may also propose an approach to employ a waste management technology solution(s) to manage Solid Waste, which could generate energy/revenues and/or produce byproducts of value compared to current landfill disposal methods.

The construction of the roof coincided with the construction of an addition to the original school building in 2000. The objective of this project is to design a complete roof system replacement that will remedy existing conditions. The A/E must demonstrate a strong background in repairing/designing roofs in cold climates with large accumulations of snow. The total budget for both design and construction is approximately $1.7M.

    Description: The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB) is requesting proposals from qualified Architectural/Engineering (A/E) firms to design modifications to the existing water systems at Snowshoe and Butte Elementary Schools. Snowshoe Elementary School is located at 200 W. Fairview Loop, Wasilla, AK, 99654 and Butte Elementary School is located at 4006 South Butte Road, Palmer, AK 99645. Butte and Snowshoe Elementary Schools are two story facilities with approximately 49,550 sq-ft each of very similar construction based on a former MSBSD prototype referred to as a “box school”, constructed in 1978 and 1979 respectively.

    Description: The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB) is requesting proposals from qualified Architectural/Engineering (A/E) firms to design a roof replacement for Talkeetna Elementary School in Talkeetna Alaska. The address of the school is 13930 E Timberwolf Loop. The existing roof system has an area of approximately 26,000 square feet. The construction of the roof coincided with the construction of an addition to the original school building in 2000. The objective of this project is to design a complete roof system replacement that will remedy existing conditions. The A/E must demonstrate a strong background in repairing/designing roofs in cold climates with large accumulations of snow. The total budget for both design and construction is approximately $1.7M.
