Located in the rural community of Sutton, a drive to our facility is worth your time. We are located in the beautiful Matanuska Valley, along the Matanuska River. Breathtaking views of the mountains and river will be right out your car window!
The resource center is the place in our community where bright ideas begin. Our facility excels at providing resources and programs that enhance your life and broaden your horizons on a daily basis.
for checkout of materials and internet use.
Library hours will be Tuesday-Friday 10AM-7PM and Saturday 11AM-4PM.
Patrons will be encouraged to wear masks, maintain social distance, and only stay as long as it takes to obtain the services they need, with a maximum stay of 1 hour.
You can still check out library materials with curbside service.
We can not request items from other libraries at this time,
but if we have it here on our shelf, you are welcome to check it out.
If you have been sick or exposed to someone who is ill, please stay home.
If you or any of your contacts have traveled outside the state,
please wait the required 14 days before coming to see us.
Minor children may not be unattended in the library.
We know that these new rules do not allow for all the social aspects of our community space and we, like you, hope that doesn’t last very long. At this time however, our priority is to keep our patrons safe and healthy while providing necessary services.
We are excited to re-open and hope to see you at the library!
We can’t all get together for our regular summer programming, but please stay tuned as we do have some fun things planned.
Summer Reading Program with the Sutton Library will include many self guided outdoor adventures, some open house style learning opportunities, and some fun art projects.
Hello Sutton teens!
I hope everyone is staying safe, healthy and active during our designated stay home time.
I am pleased to announce the arrival of the Sutton Library Summer Youth Arts and
Wellness Program 2020 and introduce myself as the new Summer Youth Program
Coordinator. Some of you may know me from our fall and winter programs, but I am
excited to spend the summer learning and interacting with you all.
During these difficult times, maintaining health and wellness is even more
important and we at the Sutton Library are excited to be able to offer a program that
encourages this for the summer.
As to be expected, this summer’s teen program will look a little different in accord with COVID-19 prevention guidelines. Following the release of COVID guidelines by Governor Mike Dunleavy, this summer’s teen program will be limited to a group number of ten. The group will meet twice weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning
June 3rd from 10am-2pm.
Limiting group number will make this program possible while encouraging community
interaction and prioritizing health and safety of teens and staff. Registering for the program will be a first come, first serve signup. If interested, please email the library
to place your name on our signup list.
The biggest adjustment to our program this summer is that there will be no large
excursions outside of the Sutton area. Depending on the development of guidelines over these next few months, there will be the possibility of an end of the summer trip. We will update you all as soon as we know. That being said, we are still prepared for a fun summer! Just a glimpse into the next few months include: Tie-Dye, Gardening, Bike trips to Granite Creek, Yoga, and possibly a teen theatre production about our new Quarantine lifestyle.
Join us for a fun-filled summer!
