Local business owner and artist Linda Henning won the second Borough poster contest with her painting of the M/V Susitna at Port MacKenzie. Henning said she drew from a photo she took years ago at Port MacKenzie on winter solstice at 5 below zero, a time of year when the sun sits at the horizon.

"It’s the only time the sun is far enough south to set at that location and reflect up the inlet." Her brush strokes were inspired by the freedom of riding on a ferry "with wind on my face blowing the whole week out of my brain."

An annual poster contest also promotes a local artist.
