Facility opens 30 minutes before first scheduled event and closes 30 minutes after last scheduled event.

ADULT PUBLIC HOCKEY: $15
  
  •  Must be 18 years old
  •  limited to 24 players and 2 goalies
  •  NOT A USA HOCKEY SANCTIONED EVENT
  •  Full gear highly recommended
STICK TIME: $10  *****NO SCRIMMAGING*****
  • No Scrimmaging is allowed during Public Stick times.
  • Public Stick times will be for passing, shooting, stick handling and skating practice.
  • Helmet and gloves required.
  • 30 total allowed on the ice

Learn to Skate

Learn to Skate Welcome to Learn To Skate at Brett Ice Arena. We offer a variety of classes year round. We teach the ISI Ice Skating Program. An ISI membership is required for all Learn to Skate students.

Registration for classes is online only. If you would like to register, please visit Activity List. If you have not yet you will need to create a Finnleysport account, then add members. Click on register, activity, click on Learn to Skate, select the day and time class you would like, add to cart & pay.

Theatre On Ice is a program about building skills, team skating and performing. We put together theatrical productions to perform at shows and or competitions. Our team, the "Ice Thrillers" is the largest Theatre On Ice team in Alaska! The new Theatre On Ice season starts September 2025. Saturdays 9:15-11:30am. NEW this summer we are offering a Theatre On Ice Camp. For more information on this program contact Kaitlyn. 
  
Figure Skating/Freestyle - Limited to 25
Freestyle Ice is reserved for Figure Skaters to practice and master their skills! This is also a time when individual instruction is done with a private instructor. Freestyle ice is $12 per hour or punchcards may be purchased. All freestyle skaters must sign in at the front office before entering the ice. Please check our rink schedule for freestyle times.
 
Ice Shows/Competitions 
The Brett Ice Arena hosts two Learn to Skate Ice Shows every season. A Winter Ice show in December and a Spring Ice Show in May. All students are encouraged to participate.
The Brett Ice Arena hosts the annual Skatefest ISI Figure Skating Competition every year in March. We encourage skaters of all ages and levels to compete for the Brett. 
The Brett Ice Arena has a figure skating team that travels to local ISI figure skating competitions around the state of Alaska.The Brett's ISI competition team is always seeking new skaters to join our team. Skaters of all ages and abilities can compete. Skaters can compete in solo or group routines. An ISI membership is required. Contact Kaitlyn for more information.

Private Ice Rental (Indoor Ice)

  • Private rentals shall have a single point of contact for all communications including but not limited to scheduling, cancellations, facility rules and emergencies.
  • Private rental permittee is responsible for ensuring all their participants and observers know and follow all facility rules.
  • Private rental permittee or their designee (designee may be a responsible adult such as a coach, team manager, board member, teacher or athletic director) shall be onsite during their event to ensure their participants and observers follow all facility rules including this mitigation plan.
  • MUST BE 18 OR OLDER TO RESERVE A PRIVATE ICE RENTAL

Birthday Parties

Birthday Parties now available!

Birthday parties are done during open public skate times. 
The cost is $110.00 for a party package. The package includes 10 skate admission, 10 skate rentals, 1.5 hours in the birthday party room during the public skate time. (Tables & chairs are provided)
Additional skaters are $6.00 each including skate rental. 
 
Private ice rentals are avalable for birthday parties.
